What a wonderful column. We aging boomers -- especially those of us
who are females -- all worry that we will someday lose our common sense, and our
pride, and do something foolish like this.

You write so beautifully, and with
such compassion. I have only one tiny disagreement with you here: Please, I
don't want ANYONE to make sure I get my flu shot -- ever!! (FYI: Flu shots
aren't as effective as the pharmaceutical companies want us to think they are.
Alas.)
