March 8th, 2013Cure By Design

Cancer has touched the lives of millions of families throughout Virginia. The American Cancer Society is an organization I have been involved with for over 14 years, and I am thrilled to serve as the Honorary Chair for the American Cancer Society’s Cure By Design 2013. I have attended many events over the years and Cure By Design is a special celebration of life that is unparalleled by any other.
Please join me on September 21, 2013 at the John Marshall Ballrooms for the 8th Annual Cure By Design, a fun-filled memorable evening as we celebrate cancer survivors of all ages and walks of life modeling the latest fashions. We’ll also enjoy a cocktail reception with designers such as New York’s Alex Garfield and Richmond’s own Evelyn Bagala, as we bid on many wonderful items donated by the local community for the silent and live auctions. Every dollar raised goes to the American Cancer Society’s free patient services, research, education, and advocacy programs.
We are sending the date and event information to you early so you can commit now as a sponsor while you determine your 2013 budget. Be sure to look at the variety of sponsorship levels still available. At the very least, I encourage you to reserve a seat for yourself and a guests to enjoy the festivities and be a very important part of this special event. Tables are limited, so I hope you act quickly. Also, if you or anyone you know is a Cancer Survivor, I strongly encourage it. Click here for instructions on how to receive the appropriate forms.
The people that support and attend this event just make it a perfect evening. You will be glad you said “yes” to this event the moment you see all the smiles, look in the eyes of a cancer survivor – young or old, hear their stories and hug their family members. I have made a new friend through Cure By Design; fashion designer Alex Garfield. His commitment year after year in supporting cancer survivors and their fight against cancer inspires me and all that attend.
This will be a night to remember and a chance for us all to come together to raise the funds necessary to fight the disease that affects far too many people every year. The American Cancer Society’s “A World without Cancer is a World with More Birthdays” is not just a slogan. It’s a fact. The American Cancer Society turns 100 years old this year, so I invite you to come and celebrate with me! I hope you will join me and many others in our community in making more birthdays for more people a reality. I’ll see you there!
