Can Somebody Explain Why Grown People Play FarmVille?
There are big mysteries of the universe that nobody can solve, but I have a small mystery I need somebody to help me understand.
Why do people over the age of 13 play Facebook's "FarmVille"? It appears that many of my grown-up friends are really busy, getting bags of hypothetical chicken feed to give to hypothetical chickens so they can get hypothetical gold coins or something. They look like they're working really hard, and for what?
I thought that maybe learning more about FarmVille might help. I've looked up articles that had tips for "using bales of hay to trap the farmer, leveling up with lightening speed, and producing a ready chick immediately". They follow these tips with "Enjoy!"
Seriously, why would I "Enjoy!" doing that with my time?
Am I the only person born without a latent farming instinct? Or am I the only person who walks around with unfinished "to-do" lists? Am I the only person too lazy to learn all that I would have to learn to be a good farmer?
Facebook has to fit into my life when it can. When I was snowed in recently I got caught up with all my facebook friends. Without snow, I'm just always behind on my facebooking. For the FarmVillers, or FishVillers, or Mafia Warriors, do you regulate how much time you spend or just free flow the time? How much time do you spend? What is it that compels you?
If you are a FarmVille player, please don't take offense. I'm not trying to put you down. I just want to understand you.
Can you help me solve this small mystery? If you can, I'll find a way to trap the farmer for you.
